We will have four meetings this year, through Zoom, to discuss school safety, school budgets and other important information. Masks with ventilators are not allowed. If a student wears a mask that is not approved, the student will be given a disposable mask to wear. Dear Cottonwood Students, Parents, and Staff: As part of our commitment to students, employees, and their families health and well-being, we are communicating with you because we have been made aware of a Cottonwood student or staff member who has tested positive for COVID-19. The positive individual has been placed into isolation and any potentially exposed individuals have already been notified and placed into quarantine. If you were not placed into quarantine it is because you were NOT directly exposed to the COVID positive individual, you do NOT need to quarantine, and you MAY continue to attend school and public functions. We will deep cleaned and sanitized all pertinent school facilities and will continue to follow Public Health Department safety guidance including, but not limited to, temperature checks, visual screenings, secondary screenings and sanitization protocols. We understand this information may cause you concern and worry, so we want to assure you that we are working closely with the San Bernardino County Public Health Department and the Hesperia Unified School District Office to continue to provide the safest learning environment that we can in these challenging times. Please understand that per Public Health Department guidance and in accordance with FERPA medical confidentiality laws, we cannot share any specifics regarding the COVID positive individual. Our thoughts are with our ill Coyote and we wish them a speedy recovery. Thank you very much for your continued support during these challenging times. Welcome back parents! We are excited to have all of our students and families back on campus. We realize pick up and drop off were a little hectic yesterday. We appreciate your patience and understanding while we work out some details. Please know that we are working very hard to keep all of our students and staff safe. When everyone follows the procedures, it will expedite dismissal and your students will be home in a timely manner. Thanks again for your patience! ¡Bienvenidos padres! We are thrilled to have our Coyotes return to school tomorrow, Aug. 5th. School gates open at 7:10 am. TK/Kinder students begin at 7:20 am and grades 1-6 start at 7:30 am. Students are welcome to grab free breakfast before heading to class. Remember, masks are required for all students and staff when indoors.
