Dear Parents, Students, and Cottonwood Community,
As always, I would like to thank you all for your continued support and participation in our school events, and for giving us the opportunity to build positive relationships with your family. It takes all of us – teachers, students, staff members, and parents – to make Cottonwood the best it can possibly be, and we encourage you to talk to us about any ideas, questions, or concerns you may have.
Cottonwood Elementary is proud to have a school-wide theme of Fitness and Health. The three areas of focus are Social Fitness, which includes Rachel’s Challenge and a pro-active approach to bully prevention; Physical Fitness, featuring our 100 Mile Club and Fitness Fridays presented by Fitness 19 certified trainers, and Academic Fitness based on Common Core strategies, Accelerated Reader, Project Based Learning, and other academic programs. We are very excited about this, and we know that it will encourage our Coyotes to “Commit to Be Fit!”
Our Howl-a-Palooza incentive program is designed to recognize students who do their best in regard to attendance, behavior, and participation in our fitness themes. Just click on the Howl-a-Palooza link for the full details. At the end of the school year, all students who meet the incentives for the entire year by earning six tags will get to participate in a schoolwide Howl-a-Palooza Carnival. Don’t miss out! If you have any questions about the program and what it takes to qualify, please don’t hesitate to call the school.
Thanks again for being part of the Cottonwood Coyote family and we’re looking forward to great times ahead!
